These flowers are made of caramel sugar by specialist confectioners, and are very popular for all ages, bringing back a childhood memory. Thus each wedding cake decorated with sugar flowers become again a pleasant memory for the whole family. Sugar flowers assorted and edible used to decorate the wedding cakes are a genial idea for modern brides because these flowers make a good and cheap solution for decorative.

The weight of a sugar flower is about 5 grams, and their dimensions are 3×3 cm (snapdragon) that 5×4 cm (lilies). Available colors in assortment are orange, pink, red, yellow, and you’ll find 8 pieces assortment Snapdragon (2 pcs per each color) and 8 pcs lilies (each 2 pieces per color). The flowers are packaged in plastic blister (a total of 16 pieces in box), on the layers of waxed paper. Warning! Sugar flowers will not come on top of or near the tops wet (including cream made over or near water), because of the risk of melting and the migration of their colors.
The recipe I use I found it on youtube, and is my favorite. Sugar paste made after this recipe is more resistant to moisture, can be stored in the refrigerator for up to six months, and the flowers can be stored in plastic containers for months, look like porcelain flowers and do not break as easily as flowers made according to other sugar paste recipes. The key ingredient is tyleose’s a white powder, which gives the pulp yield, resistance to moisture and extend shelf life. It can be spread very, very thin, and if sugar is sifted through fine sieve, the paste has a smooth consistency. Like property, I should mention that this paste dries quickly. Thus, the paste that you wish to use later must be well packed and sealed.
