Spectacular Wedding Cakes

I remember that once I have witnessed a friend of mine searching a wedding cake for her wedding ceremony which was supposed to take place in two weeks, and she hadn’t decided yet on the cake matter. Her wedding budget was almost over since all the other elements of the wedding ceremony were already thought of and carefully planned. In the end all that was left to do was ordering the cake. Her wedding ceremony wasn’t planned to be a big one, with only 80 people to attend and a small restaurant hired for the wedding party she managed to spend the budget within its affordable limits. But when it came to the cake she told me that she preferred a real spectacular one, since to her, the wedding cake moment was the one which put an end to the wedding party and she wanted for this moment to be memorable in the guests’ eyes and minds. She even instructed her photographer to focus mostly at that particular moment and for this she needed to be a real grandiose one.

She called me, as I had later realized, merely for the sake to have someone next to her and not necessary to help her decide on this aspect. So we grabbed a cup of coffee, turned on the PC and started the research. Suddenly an abundance of colorful images filled the screen of her PC that we were left speechless; how on earth was someone supposed to decide at the sight of so many delicious, delectable, artistic made cakes? And looking at them, we were imagining that one can feel almost sorry to even take a bite out of it, that gorgeous they looked. If I say real work of art, I am sure that I am not overreacting! While all these thoughts were crossing my mind I heard my friend saying exactly the same things and casting a look toward me she realized that actually I was sharing the same opinion with hers.

She told me that it was precisely my reaction, the wide opened eyes with a wonder mark in them, the one she was expecting from her guests when her wedding cake was to be brought in. I told her that indeed this moment can compare only to the moment when she comes in as a bride and walks down the aisle. She was happy that I understood her, but when I tried to make some suggestions for her choice, she shut me up. She confessed that she needed me there only to check on my reaction, but she wouldn’t tell me what her choice was as she wanted to surprise me in the same way she would surprise the other invitees.

Well, I didn’t mind too much, as I was anxious to be surprised as all the other wedding guests, so we ended up our cake research with wondering at every new page of spectacular wedding cakes that the websites so generously offer. So images of 2, 3 tiered wedding cakes with different, unimaginable decorations that used flowers, sea motifs, geometric forms, various colors for icing, cakes with medieval themes decorations, as well as toppers in a diversity of symbols. I mean, really, only by looking at them you feel like admiring a masterpiece of an unknown artist, who through his creation goes out of the ordinary thus putting his signature on the eternity of time.
