Choosing the right wedding cake is as essential as the process of choosing the wedding dress. There are many things that you have to consider when you’re purchasing for a wedding desert.




For example, depending on the style of your wedding – elegant, chic, casual, formal, extravagant, traditional, modern, simple, luxurious, classic, also depending on the theme of the wedding –retro, Disney, Gothic, seasonal, medieval, western, mad hatter, fairy-tale, renaissance etc, on the location of the wedding – garden, beach, mountain, park, filed, country-side, on the colors scheme, number of guests and maybe depending on the wedding dress.

These are only a few of the aspects that you need to consider when shopping for wedding cakes. But let’s just discuss about the number of the guests issue and see how you can choose the right size and dimensions for the wedding cake. For example, if you are planning on a small or simple, casual and concentrate wedding it would be better for you to choose a small wedding cake, that in case you don’t want to have leftovers because you bought a bigger wedding cake.

There are many small wedding cakes that are pretty cute, lovely and delicious. So don’t be afraid of buying a small wedding cake because you will be able to find any type and design that you are looking for. In fact, they say that small wedding cakes are even lovelier, cuter and appetizing than any elaborated and tall wedding cake.

A small wedding cake can be layered by have a narrow aspect of vice versa: small-sized and large or long. For those that aren’t layered the squared, oval or heart-shaped designs are wonderful. There are many brides and grooms out there who are choosing the small wedding cake even if their wedding is not small, simple or less expensive.

The greatest thing about small wedding cakes is that they can be pretty elaborated and have some intricate details and architectural embroideries that a big wedding cake might not have it. The philosophy goes kind of like that: the small wedding cake is prettier, more beautiful decorated, more colored and more flavored, while the big wedding cake is simpler, un-sophisticated and more formal.

Translating this we can say that the more a wedding cake is smaller the more decoration, flavors and colors incorporates just to compensate the small size. But this is really absurdity that can be correct only in some small wedding cake cases, when couples who are choosing it wish to adorn the cake as beautiful as possible to make it up for the small cake slices from the guest’s plates.

Something like: small but tasty! But as we said, this is a preconception that is not available in the case of big wedding cakes. They can be as gorgeous, elaborated and complex as a small wedding cake, each tiered containing different colors, flavors and shapes.
