Jolly Facebook Fun

Since the holidays are here, it’s time for us to get into the Christmas spirit and write about something that suits this white landscape. As we find new and interesting things on the internet every day, today we came across Gifttreez.

Gifttreez is a Facebook application developed by GreenPixel which is not only a fun way to have your very own Christmas tree, but it’s also a different way of wishing happy holidays to your friends. When you first install this application, you will be faced with a beautiful polar winter landscape and 6 different trees that you have to choose from.  After you have chosen the tree you most like, you have to start decorating it and gathering points.

If you want to start decorating your tree right away… you can’t.  First you have to invite some friends, as many Facebook friends as you can and each time a friends joins you and put up their own tree, you will be able to see them in the “browse treez” tab. When you visit each tree separately, then you can start making some points. If you like someone’s tree, you can vote for it and you will automatically receive one point. You can also vote the tree even if you don’t like it, you still get one point and that is all that matters. For every vote that you receive from your friends, another 2 points are added to your balance.



An easier and faster way to make points is to send Christmas tree decorations to your friends. Whenever you visit someone’s tree, you can gift them with beautiful white bells or candy canes. Just choose the item from the list, drag and drop it into your friend’s Christmas tree and then write a special message in that window that pops up. You can send just a gift and a message everyday and it’s guaranteed to make your friends feel special. For every gift you make, you get 10 points and 5 points are also handed to you for every decoration that you receive.

Once you have gathered minimum 750 points, you can upgrade you Christmas tree from that boring small size to a medium size that can handle more decorations. Your friends must really love you if they’re sending you all those gifts! If you really want to make the other jealous, upgrade your tree to the biggest size and make it the most beautiful tree in the neighborhood. To do that, you must have 1500 points.



There is also a network rank (and by network I mean you entire Facebook group of friends) that lets you see the position you and your tree occupy. This application has just been launched so I believe we will be getting more goodies in these next few days. In the mean time, let the gifts begin! Convince you friends to join and send you gift so you can see which one has the most beautiful Christmas tree in the end.
