How to make an Italian wedding cake




A wedding ceremony should be a very special moment which represents the personality of the brides and grooms very well. So, try to do all according to your personal tastes and without being influenced by families or friends.

I will write in this article an Italian wedding cake recipe. I will begin to enumerate the main thing you must have in your kitchen for such a recipe. The next ingredients are all you need for a tasty Italian wedding cake. So you need a ½ cup of buttermilk, a teaspoon of baking soda, a teaspoon of salt, a ½ cup of shortening, a ½ cup of margarine, two cups of white sugar, 5 egg yolks, a ¼ teaspoon of almond extract, a teaspoon of vanilla extract, 2 cups of all-purpose flour, 5 egg whites, a ½ cup of drained crushed pineapple, a ½ cup of flaked coconut, a cup of chopped pecans, a ¾ cup of softened butter, one package of softened cream cheese, 4 cups of confectioners` sugar, two teaspoons of vanilla extract, and a cup of chopped pecans.

Now, after you have bought all these ingredients, you can start doing your Italian wedding cake. First, preheat the oven to 175 Celsius degrees, grease and flour 3 inch of pans. The, combine and set aside the buttermilk, the baking soda, and the salt. The second step to be followed is to cream in a large bowl the shortening, margarine and sugar until you obtain something light and fluffy. Then, beat in the composition the egg yolks, 1 teaspoon f vanilla, and almond extract. After, you should beat in the buttermilk mixture alternating with the flour and mix till they incorporate. Now, take another bowl and beat inside it the egg whites still they form stiff peaks.

In a very gentle way, fold the egg whites into the batter and then, stir in the pineapple, coconut, and 1 cup of pecans. The third step to be followed when preparing this tasty recipe is to pour the batter equally into the prepared pans. Bake the composition into the preheated oven for 35 minutes or try to insert a toothpick into the center of the batter. If the toothpick comes out clean, the batter is cooked and ready to be removed from oven. Please let the cake layers to cool for some minutes in the pans before turning it out onto wore racks in order to cool completely. The frosting can be prepared by following the next steps: take the butter, cream cheese and confectioners` sugar and cream them together until they blend very well. Then, stir in two teaspoons of vanilla and one cup of pecans. If the frosting obtained is to stiff, you should stir in a teaspoon of milk and you will obtain the desired consistency.
