How Many Cakes In A Wedding

The wedding cake moment is one of the most awaited moments in a wedding. But what would you say if there were two or many wedding cake moments. How many wedding cakes should a wedding have? There’s no rule that says: You are allowed to have one single wedding cake in a wedding. Like we’ve made up some other rules we came up with this one too. We, people, created traditions and customs so today all weddings have one wedding cake because this is how it’s done.




This is not a rule, even if this is haw everybody chooses to do. If you want to have 10 small wedding cakes and a big one in the middle it’s your choice and you can freely do it. It will cost more of course, but nobody should say stop, you cannot do it. You should be able to have as many wedding cakes as you want. But, think twice, many wedding cakes also mean: money, much more work and stress, so think about all possibilities.

Usually people chose to have one wedding cake because they have one wedding, and one ceremony and so on. They have one wedding cake because they consider themselves as a unity as one person, after they are married so now it;s time to share everything. This starts with the wedding cake, they cut it together and every guest from the wedding will taste the beautiful wedding cake. As I’ve said before, nobody ever said that this is a rule, it’s just the way people chose to do these things, If you chose to be different and to have many wedding cakes, this is not a problem.

I think it’s brave and creative and that it only will lead to something good. Imagine how, after the wedding, all the guests will rave about the 2 wedding cakes, the  wedding decorations, the gorgeous couple, but the 2 wedding cakes will have all the interest. It’s unusual and maybe a little crazy and these are the things that you need, to create quite a show.

If you chose having many cakes at your wedding, keep them in line with the whole wedding. Don’t end up having 2 or many wedding cakes that are completely different. Keep the same color scheme and  have maybe some general decoration on all of them.Of course They don’t have to be completely the same  but it would be good to have some similar points between them. If you chose that the bride should have her own wedding cake and the groom his own, try to make the bride’s cake a little feminine and groom’s more masculine. Make people understand why you chose to have many wedding cakes if you wanted to express something making this choice.

Maybe independence, difference, the things that differentiate you as a couple, but also the ones which bring you together. Come up with a whole story and motivate and argument your choice. Sometimes there’s no need for this, but if you feel your guests are not the most modern ones,  feel free to start with a good joke and tell them what you wanted to express having many wedding cake.

Being traditional it’s always beautiful and appreciated, but it doesn’t mean you cannot twist a little bit the customs. Having many wedding cakes at your wedding, it’s your decision so feel free to take it if you want to. It’s your big day so make it unforgettable, if this means you need to  have many wedding cakes, then go for it!
