Halloween Wedding Cakes
When I have first seen the colorful envelope in my mailbox I thought it was something related to a commercial for the upcoming event of Halloween, though it was almost three months away, but yet, this is with commercials, anyway – they come earlier to ensure the big companies the potentiality of existing more clients on the consumers’ markets once a product is released.
Well, it proved I was wrong; it was my friend’s wedding invitation wrapped in an orange with black stripes like knife’s cuts that showed some blood drops at the end of the stripes. It looked not that cheerful, I have to admit, considering that it was nevertheless a wedding invitation, but knowing my friend’s taste for strange and creepy things I smiled and answered back letting her know about my attendance to her wedding. It was quite an event for me, I must confess, since it was my first Halloween ‘party’ spent outside the limits of my house and backyard – I have always thrown parties on Halloween and I used to be all the time the host in this regard,… I like to invite people over and have fun (it runs from the family, this thing with hosting ‘strange’ events)!

But knowing how difficult was for me every time when it came to the menu, especially the desserts, I was curious to find out the style of
Halloween wedding cake, my friend came up with. To me, the Halloween menu was really a challenge. I wanted to find new ways to decorate the table and to render the meals the replicas of strange figures of the Halloween’s world and in this regard, the preparation for this holiday always caught me doing researches on internet in the big hunt for ideas.
Well, I was planning to wait for the big day of my friend’s Halloween themed wedding, but you know how it is with women – curiosity kills the cat, so after one week upon the wedding invitation’s receiving, I surprised myself grabbing the phone with one thought to populate my mind: to call my friend and ask her about the Halloween wedding cake. Maybe, who knows, after all she might need some assistance in this matter and maybe I could be the one to deliver for her, right?
It turned out that I was right, my friend asking me to come over as it seemed that nothing worked in regard to the wedding cake style. I went over and started the hunting for ideas, my friend didn’t seem to be satisfied with what the websites offered to her, and moreover, she wished that her Halloween wedding with everything it contained to be the most original one, something that nobody had ever seen before. I came up with the idea of two pumpkins’ shaped tiers of a cake, a black mask to decorate the topper pumpkin as in a symbolic mark of anonymity. She looked at me quite intrigued asking me why anonymous since the wedding would be the one to draw them out of the large masses of lovers and cast them in the unity of a unique married life. I told her that the mask was supposed to fall down the moment they cut the first slice; the symbolic cut of the cake made by the wife supported by her husband would be done with the unveiling of the anonymity that was supposed to reveal the couple in the state of a married and shared life with love and commitment.
