As long as human race exists there will be weddings to plan. This is good for any wedding related business. Hence there are lots of wedding vendors and lots of choices for us. That is good for some, tiring for others, but most of the brides will want their weddings to be as a close to perfect as possible, so choices are good.

Here are the choices you have to make when you are trying to decide on your wedding cake. It is probably best to decide whether you want a cheap or an expensive wedding cake as that will do quite well with narrowing the choices you have.

Then think about what your wedding will be like and decide whether you will go for edible or artificial cake. If your wedding reception will be held out doors and you expect it to be a hot day, it would probably be best to choose an artificial wedding cake.

Also one of the things to think about is whether you want to serve cake or a different kind of special dessert. If you want a special desert but don't want to break the cutting of the cake tradition, you will have the possibility to opt for a fake or a rental cake.

Then think about the number of guests and if you're not going to have a large wedding then you might want to have a smaller cake or include some fake parts in your cake. After you've decided on those aspects you will have to choose the design. That means you will have to choose between shapes, you will have decide whether you want a multilayered or a one layer cake, you have to choose the filling, the color and the decorations.

Your wedding cake should match the theme of your wedding, so you may for instance choose a blue wedding cake, with three tiers of different shapes, with a fake bottom tier and with light decorations in matching hues, such as different shades of blue and purple or in opposite colors for an extravagant touch.

Having a blue wedding cake may still seem an odd choice for many. A blue wedding theme is not the most common theme you could choose, but it would certainly give your wedding that extra special touch. Blue is the culturally assigned boyish color, which is why blue may seem like an odd choice. But blue is a beautiful, relaxing calming color, the color of the skies and the oceans. Despite being an uncommon choice, it would not be a difficult theme to use. You have a wide variety of blue flowers to choose from for your bouquet and arrangements; you can even add a touch of blue to your dress and complete it all with a beautiful exquisite blue wedding cake. Even your husband to be might be comfortable with the choice of the theme!
